  • Eligibility: Students must attend a district-run school to be eligible. The student’s DPS ID will be used to verify enrollment. We are finalizing partnership agreements with charter schools and hope to enroll students from KIPP and Rocky Mountain Prep in March.

  • - GT STEAM provides fun academic enrichment in engineering, law, math, and reading.

    - GT STEAM provides a safe, loving, learning environment for all kids.

    - GT STEAM is for students with all different academic backgrounds.

    - Students above, below, and at grade level thrive in GT STEAM’s small, hands-on classes.

  • - GT STEAM Academy is not an Extended School Year (ESY) program. GT STEAM does not meet IEP-mandated ESY requirements.

    - You can list your child’s allergies, dietary requirements, and/or special needs on the enrollment form. GT STEAM does not have 1:1 paraprofessionals unless provided by the partner district.

  • - Daily attendance is important for your child’s success.

    - Absences are excused in case of illness or emergency.

    - Please make sure your child attends the first three days, in particular, when we are building our community.

    - We ask that students miss no more than five days of the five-week Academy.

  • - Breakfast and lunch are provided daily through our partner school districts.

    - Students may bring lunches.

  • Mr. Akeem, Denver

    Mr. Akeem Kelley grew up in East Denver. He joined Generation Teach in 2022 and serves as a GT STEAM Academy Director during the summer. Mr. Akeem’s professional background includes teaching math and serving as a dean of students.

  • Ms. Amneris, Holyoke

    Ms. Amneris Narvaez grew up in Western MA and is a proud graduate of Holyoke Public Schools (HPS). She joined Generation Teach in 2019 as the Director of Western MA Programs and serves as a GT STEAM site director during the summer. Ms. Amneris' background includes teaching Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade students and education advocacy.

    Ms. Anataly Uribe grew up in Colorado. She joined Generation Teach in 2022 and serves as a GT STEAM Academy Director during the summer. Ms. Anataly’s professional background includes serving as a bilingual educator and academic instructional coach.

  • Ms. Ashle', Washington DC

    Ms. Ashle’ Tate grew up in Northeast Denver. She joined Generation Teach in 2016 as a Teaching Fellow and serves as a GT STEAM Academy Director during the summer. Ms. Ashle’s professional background includes teaching English Language Arts grades 5-12.

  • Mr. Ismael, Denver

    Ms. Ismael Ramos grew up in Southwest Denver and is a proud graduate of Denver Public Schools (DPS). He joined Generation Teach in 2018 and serves as the GT STEAM Director of the Southwest Denver site. Ismael's background includes mentoring middle and high-school students, providing career access supports, managing community partnerships, and leading family outreach.

  • Ms. Ive, New England

    Ms. Ive Sanchez is a Boston, MA native and has worked in K-12 public education for a decade. She joined Generation Teach in 2016 as the Senior Director of Massachusetts Programs and serves as a GT STEAM site director during the summer. Ms. Ive’s professional background includes teaching middle-school English as a second language and leading diversity initiatives. Ms. Ive supports New England Directors.

  • Mr. Marco, Denver

    Mr. Marco Alfaro joined Generation Teach in 2019 as an academic coach, returned as a virtual team leader in 2020, led a site in 2021, and joined the national team in 2022. Mr. Marco’s background includes teaching K-5 and STEM in English and Spanish.

    Ms. Mayra, Denver

    Ms. Mayra Mendez was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico and grew up in rural Minnesota. She joined Generation Teach in 2022. Ms. Mayra’s professional background includes leading a national leadership scholarship program and serving as the Director of Latinx Student Services.

  • Ms. Nikomo, Washington DC

    Nikomo Logan is a born and bred Texan who has dedicated her professional and personal life to the betterment of humankind. Her experience with serving diverse populations of students and families gave her a hunger for wanting to dive deeper into diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

  • Mr. Rob, Providence

    Mr. Rob Randall grew up in Rhode Island. He joined Generation Teach in 2022 and serves as a GT STEAM site director during the summer. Mr. Rob’s background includes leading after-school and summer programming for the Providence After School Alliance.

  • Ms. Shelia, Dallas

    Shelia Cherry-Branch is a native Dallas, TX. resident and joined Generation Teach in 2023. For the past twenty years Shelia has had the fortunate opportunity to educate students in the Dallas area from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. While working in the Dallas Independent School District she has served in several impactful roles as an Educator, District Literacy Coach, and High School Collegiate Administrator.

    Tiesha has served professionally in traditional K-12 public school settings as an educator; both domestically and internationally. In addition to the traditional school setting, she has previously served in the non-profit sector as an Education Program Director where she created an innovative after school and summer program. Tiesha joined Generation Teach in 2023.
